

Nicole Wong
Co-Founder and Instructor
Nicole is a graduated student from Kristin School, Auckland. She is passionate about driving change through service initiatives surrounding STEAM and sustainable growth in New Zealand. In her spare time, she enjoys debating, chamber music and competitive mathematics. Nicole was also a member of the New Zealand Maths Olympiad Squad (Top 12 nationally).
Dawn Chen
Co-Founder and Instructor
Dawn is a graduated student from St Cuthbert's College in Auckland. In her free time, she enjoys art, design, music, badminton, and mathematics! She has experience in both competitive mathematics and teaching maths. Dawn finds maths to be a challenging but rewarding endeavor and aspires to spread her passion to other young, enthusiastic students! Dawn was also a member of the New Zealand Maths Olympiad Team (Top 6 nationally).


Brian Zhao
Operations Manager
​​Brian graduated high school from ACG Parnell College and is currently attending university at Columbia University. He is experienced in both mathematical and informatics Olympiad, having participated in the International Mathematical Olympiad thrice. In his free time, he enjoys robotics, hiking, and teaching. Brian believes that with science and technology we can make the world a more efficient place, saving resources and energy.
April Liang
Communications Manager
April is a year 13 student at Takapuna Grammar School, Auckland. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, debating and mathematics. She hopes that through her role with MINDNZ, she can help engage more students all over NZ to endeavour in a new area of mathematics — olympiad maths!


Jerry Dai

Boning (Jerry) Dai is a Year 13 student at Wentworth Computer Science College and a past student at Auckland Grammar. Since olympiad maths is so beautiful, he aims to make it accessible to a wider audience through his handouts. In his spare time, he enjoys looking at clouds, singing, reading plays, and participating in quiz tournaments, which he is steadily getting better at.​​ jerry was also a member of the New Zealand Maths Olympiad Team (Top 6 nationally).

Course Instructor
George is a year 13 student at King's College. In his spare time he enjoys playing the violin, listening to music, and reading occasionally. He hopes through his role at MINDNZ more students in New Zealand will delve into the art of problem solving.


Sophie Xu

Sophie is a Year 10 student at Kristin School and is part of New Zealand's 2025 EGMO team. Outside of maths, she loves to dance. She is excited to be teaching a course and meeting everyone!
Alan Sun
Course Instructor
Alan is a year 13 student at Rangitoto College with a strong passion for mathematics. He enjoys exploring complex problems and challenging himself with new mathematical concepts. In his spare time, le loves playing the violin, which allows him to express myself creatively and connect with others through music. He also enjoys staying active by going for runs, often with friends, as it’s a great way to clear his mind.

Ethan is a graduated student at Auckland Grammar School who enjoys doing maths in his free time. Aside from doing maths, he also enjoys going to the gym and going for runs. He wishes to help others not only get better at maths, but also to enjoy maths.


Danny Howe

Danny is a graduated student at Westlake Boys and in his spare time enjoys watching Tiktok. Whilst he may not be the brightest at maths, he definitely recognises its benefits, thus through his role at MINDNZ he hopes to encourage a deeper appreciation and engagement with the subject in students of all levels of mathematical proficiency.
Chris Pan
Course Instructor
​​Chris is a graduated student at Auckland Grammar School. He enjoys competitive maths, singing, playing table tennis, and going on the occasional walk. Chris wants to help people improve their mathematical skills, but also hopes he can guide them towards appreciating the beauty of maths. Chris was also a member of the New Zealand Maths Olympiad Team (Top 6 nationally).


Haotian Wang

Haotian is a year 13 student at Auckland Grammar School. In his free time, aside from mathematics, he plays music, specifically, the flute and the piano. He thinks maths is incredibly interesting and wishes to help others become better at maths. Haotian was also a member of the New Zealand Maths Olympiad Squad (Top 6 nationally).
